Tim Summers

Executive Chairman

Mr Tim Summers joined GMS in April 2019. He has thirty years’ experience in oil & gas, oilfield services and the manufacturing and engineering sectors. He has held a variety of Executive and Board roles with BP, TNK-BP, Renova AG, and Sulzer AG. He was Chairman of KCA-Deutag, Swiss listed engineering firm Oerlikon AG, and the privately-held oil & gas independent New Age Limited. Mr Summers is a Chartered Engineer with a BSc (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Manchester. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Institute of Mining, Metalurgy and Minerals, and is a Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

STEPHEN (STEVE) KERSLEY

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Mr Steve Kersley joined GMS in June 2019. He brings a wealth of energy sector experience gained in over 35 years in the industry. Mr Kersley was previously Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Tervita Corporation, a Canadian oilfield services business. Prior to that he spent three years as CFO of Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC (TAQA), one of Abu Dhabi’s flagship companies vital in helping to deliver the economic strategy of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. He led the successful capital restructuring at Tervita, and at TAQA he raised over $6bn in four bond issuances, while also fundamentally reshaping the company’s portfolio with US$2bn of acquisitions and US$1.5bn of divestments. Before these roles, he spent 24 years with Royal Dutch Shell, 10 as a Vice President, working in Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Mr Kersley is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales (ICAEW) and has a BA (Hons) degree in Law from Birmingham University.

ANDY ROBERTSON

FINANCE DIRECTOR

Mr Andy Robertson joined GMS in 2008. He was educated at Robert Gordon University with a BA in Accountancy and Finance and is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Prior to joining GMS, he spent six years working in the oil and gas industry for AMEC, having taken up postings in the UK, USA and China and had responsibility for finance operations in major oil and gas regions including Europe, Americas, Asia and the Middle East. These roles had a strong focus on delivering improvement/change to process, practice and procedure. He also has significant marine/shipping experience gained in a variety of finance-related roles with P&O and Coflexip Stena Offshore.

JIM BRADFORD

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

Mr Jim Bradford joined GMS in 2016 as General Manager – North West Europe, having held senior operations management roles for leading companies in the oil & gas and marine sectors. He began his offshore career as an Engineer Officer Cadet and rose through the ranks to become Chief Engineer Officer before moving ashore into operations management occupying senior roles with James Fisher Group and Gulfmark. In addition to holding an Unlimited Certificate of Competence in Marine Engineering, he has also completed an MBA.

 

MOHAMMED ANTAR

SUPPORT SERVICES DIRECTOR

Mr Mohammed Antar joined GMS in 2007.  Prior to joining he was Logistics Manager for five years in the Logistics Division of ADMA-OPCO with a workforce of around 770 personnel, an annual budget of US$ 105m, and around 15 major contracts.  Still under ADMA-OPCO, he also worked as a Manager in Das Island for 13 years in the Service Division. The Division’s main function was to provide support services for the whole of Das Island, which included Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS).

MARK PRESTON

COMMERCIAL DIRECTOR

Mr Mark Preston joined GMS in 2008, bringing more than 20 years of commercial experience within the marine and offshore industry.  He is a Chartered Shipbroker with international business development experience gained in the oil and gas industry.  He has undertaken the commercial management and control of large scale projects which include the provision of Early Production Systems and the conversion of a Floating Production and Storage Facility for European clients.

 

GARY BENTINCK

HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR

Mr Gary Bentinck joined the GMS executive management team in 2016. He is a graduate of the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen and holds a BA Degree in Public Administration, a post-graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and he is a Member of the UK Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development. Mr Bentinck has 30 years of experience working for international market leaders in the marine, drilling, subsea and oilfield services sectors of the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining GMS, he initially held the position of HR Director with Subsea 7, before being promoted to Offshore Staffing Director and having responsibility for the delivery of all employment and crew management services to an offshore workforce of 6000 people.

STEPHEN REID

HSSEQ DIRECTOR

Mr Stephen Reid joined GMS in 2014 and is responsible for the Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality arrangements within GMS activities onshore and offshore. He holds a Master of Business Administration and is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. Mr Reid has spent a number of years in the oil and gas industry, holding positions as Regional QHSE Manager for GE Oil and Gas (UK) and PSL Energy Services (Azerbaijan), Head of Support Services and Global HSSE Manager for KCA Deutag (Azerbaijan, Aberdeen and Global) and Corporate HSSEQ Manager (Gulf Drilling International (Qatar).
