Fabrication and installation of permanent 280 man accommodation module, engine room and associated services for Leighton’s International.
The Leighton Stealth project saw the conversion of a 120 meter flat top barge into a sophisticated pipe laying vessel for the Leighton Group, a leading international offshore pipelaying contractor. The initial hull conversion commenced in Indonesia but due to extreme delays, the partly completed project was brought to Gulf Marine Services for major superstructure completion, overall outfitting, testing, and commissioning and sea trials. The project showed our capability for speedy re-engineering of the project, the ability to ramp up construction manpower at short notice and to meet the extremely tight delivery schedule, manage a number of major complex subcontracts, and deliver the fully commissioned vessel. Gulf Marine Services is responsible for installing the majority of all cabling and pipe work, including extensive pipe work replacement, and completely outfitted and built the 250 man accommodation to a very high standard as well as undertaking the complete installation, also commissioning and testing of the extensive mechanical handling systems for pipe laying and anchor handling.
